 Seniors visit PSNP

On Friday afternoon, September 21, 2007 Pasadena Ski & Nature Park hosted a special event.Approximately 40 seniors from Pasadena, the Humber Valley and some from out-of-province visited the Chalet for a Hike and Social afternoon.

The weather was superb and 29 Seniors hiked the Lone Pine Trail, accompanied by Iris in the lead with Henry bringing up the rear.  Some chose to remain at the Chalet and enjoy the comforts while socializing!

What a delight when these hikers returned, excited by the walk itself, by Mother Nature, and the "camaraderie" in the whole experience!  But this wasn't the end of the afternoon, by any means.  Upon returning to the Chalet, everyone was treated to Tea/Coffee, 3 kinds of scones, 4 varieties of  Newfoundland Homemade Jams, as well as an assortment of cookies...arranged by Kay, with help from Iris, Norma and Joan.  Thanks to all!

The highlight of this social gathering was an hour of entertainment, compliments of "The Valleymen"...Bill Smith on keyboard, Doug Beattie on Saxophone, Wilson Kelloway on Trumpet and Rick Wheeler on Bass, with  Jorge Villanueva leading on vocals.  Everyone present certainly took a trip down Memory Lane!

Most of these were visiting the Chalet for the first time, and had high praises for the venue!  A "feel good" afternoon was experienced by all, visitors and volunteers alike!  We hope that events like this will certainly be repeated.
