Lichens

A good time to observe lichens is in the late fall season after some heavy rains, but they can be seen in all seasons. This brief program will feature only some of the more common or noticeable lichens seen along the PSNP trails, and a few others, to introduce this fascinating group. A hand lens (magnifying glass/loupe) is useful, but not essential.  Enjoy your time on our PSNP trails.
